Characters
There are six main characters in HALO 2.
Each of them is important in the game's story.
Master Chief
SPARTAN
117, the Master Chief, is a member of the SPARTAN-II Project. He is a
genetically, biologically, and technically enhanced fighting unit. His reflexes
unmatched, his strength and endurance quite unlike and other human.
Height: 7 feet
Weight: Half ton in armor.
The Arbiter
When the Covenants are in a crisis, the
Prophets/leaders make one of the Elites an Arbiter, which stands as their Hero.
This Elite once failed a mission from the first Halo. When the Prophets gave him
another chance, he became the Arbiter. In Halo 2, there are portions where you
could play as Master Chief, or the Arbiter.
Cortana
Cortana
is an extremely powerful and intelligent Smart AI (Artificial Intelligence)
flashed from a clone of Dr. Halsey. Cortana is basically the Master Chief's
assistant. She could be uploaded to Master Chief's internal system for
communication.
Sgt. Johnson
Sgt. A.J. Johnson has been fighting the Covenant since he was old enough to
join the Marines. He helped Master Chief in many situations. He helped Master
Chief beat Tartarus, a covenant brute leader.
Tartarus 
Tartarus is the Chieftain of the Brutes, who are part of the
Covenant. Tartarus will be Master Chief's greatest enemy that he will go against
in Halo 2.
